There was an idea presented that students that don’t participate in a fundraiser should be required to donate a set amount of money such as $5.00 or the donation could be made optional. Another suggestion was to send home a list of scheduled school fundraisers so that parents are aware of when they will be held. The list could be included in the beginning of the year HART informational packet and/or inform new parents at kindergarten orientation.

First and third grade use charter buses for field trips. Fourth grade makes a donation to R.B. Winter State Park.

April is volunteer month. Thank you to all of the HART volunteers.

$4,369.98 was collected for Pennies for Patients. Mrs. Springer’s class collected the most at $421.54 and won a pizza party. Mr. Venna’s class came in second and Mrs. Gratti’s class was third. Thank you to Knoebels for helping to count the money. This is the last year for this. Next year students will participate in the St. Jude’s Math-a-thon.

Wednesday, April 7 is spring picture day. Mr. Shirvinski received letters from two parents that were unhappy with the spring pictures. The school makes money from the pictures purchased that is put into the activities fund. Every student is photographed in the fall. Parents can purchase the spring pictures if they like them or return them to the school.
