May HART Min. and News


May HART Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 6:34pm by President Terry Genners.

In attendance were Judy Lynn Weaver, Roxanne Zuber, Tia Brown, Michelle Conway, Amy Snyder, Sue Griscavage, Terry Genners, and Linda Hoy.

Vice Presidents report.  Sue mentioned that Teacher Appreciation week is coming up.  The menu for the week is Monday-Spaghetti, Tuesday-Tacos, Wednesday-Soup and Salad, Thursday-Breakfast cart and Friday-Treat in box.

Parents are donating most everything for event.  Breakfast from HART which includes sticky buns, bagels, muffins, fruit, coffee and tea.  There will also be raffles of gift baskets and gift cards.

There is going to be a luncheon again for Hartman volunteers.  Letters will be going home to the 17 eligible. Mr. Shirvinski is taking care of event, Sue will be making salad.

On to Treasure’s report.  There was a $500 anonymous donation with a $100 going to each grade. Hartman Hustle brought in $10,211.85, this is not the profit.  Top 3 classes 1st Mr. Horne with $905 won the snow cone party, 2nd Mrs. Harlor with $777.00 chose the kick ball game and 3rd Mrs. Spotts with $655.10 is having a cook out.  Top child in each class was 4th Jonathan Helfrick $500, 3rd Skye Stabley $130.00, 2nd Zack Gee $130.00, 1st Natalie Shoch $150.00, K Todd Brocius $110.00.

We raised less this year than last, the only school she worked with that had this happen.  Linda mentions possibly doing something else or sell something else.  Sue suggested having the Hustle in the fall.  Most agreed that trying it in the fall was a good idea.  Everyone agreed that doing the Hustle keeps the active and the kids really enjoy it.  Suggestion of possibly doing it during the Harvest Festival.  Amy suggested possibly going something other than a T-shirt for a reward.  Maybe something like a water bottle, Tia suggested a draw string bag and working that into the craft for the festival. 

Motion to approve Treasures report 1st Judy Lynn and 2nd Michelle.

Next to Secretary’s report. Motion to approve 1st Roxanne and 2nd Michelle. 

Principals report. Mr. Shirvinski was in attendance and there was nothing to report.

Michelle asked some questions about AR.  Party will be mini golf at 100 points.  25 points they still have a chance in this last marking period.

Moving on up day 5/30 k-3
Judy Lynn asked what moving on up day is.  Terry explained that it gives students to meet their new teacher and other classmates before the next school year. 

Relay Recess 5/31
Michelle asked what goes on with relay recess.  Terry explained that there are all sorts of activities done with students, Lauren Day organizes.  It was also asked what time relay is and it runs from 3-12 for the community.  Linda asked why it changed and it’s due to the community demands of wanting a change hoping for a better outturn.  Terry also explained a bit about relay

If it rains, there is no rain day and students will get a book of tickets. Grades 5-8 is also going to Knoebel's this year but it is on a different day. 

Last Day of School- Friday 6/7 dismissal at 10:30am

Michelle asked about something she remembered from a previous meeting which was the Zoo America/Chocolate trip. Which there was discussion about switching but its not going to this year.

Linda also asked who and why the field trips are chosen.  Sue explained that the field trip needs to go with the curriculum the grade is working on. 

Our next meeting will be September 4, 2013 at 6:30 in the Library.

Sue thanked everyone for their help through out the year. Sue also offered her help to Tia for the upcoming Art show.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:19pm with a motion from Michelle and a 2nd Roxanne.

The Hartman Helping Hands volunteer appreciation luncheon will be help Wednesday May 15 for those who participate.

Linda Hoy was re-elected for Treasure and Sue Griscavage was re-elected for Vice President. 

A huge Thank You to Linda Hoy and all who helped with making the Hartman Hustle a huge success. 

Thanks also to those who donated items and time for Teacher Appreciation Week.  The teachers and staff were really grateful for everything. Thanks to Sue Griscavage and Sherry Humphrey for organizing this week long event to show the teachers just how much we appreciate all they do!!!

It’s hard to believe the school year is almost coming to a close.  Thank you to all that attend our monthly HART meetings and those who volunteer their time to HART events.  We hope to see everyone in September!!!
