Sue Griscavage had nothing new in the Vice President's Report. She did homeroom parent selection at the end of the meeting.

Linda Hoy gave the Treasurer's Report. The general fund balance stands at $12,818.78. No changes in the class fund balances. They are as follows:
Kindergarten: $100.00
1st Grade: $2,234.58

3rd Grade: $3,671.67

The Treasurer's Report was approved with a motion from Georgiann Noll and a second from Laurie Morris.

Suzanne Kuijpers gave the Secretary's Report which consisted only of a review of the September Minutes. The Minutes were approved with a motion from Roxanne Zuber and a second from Heidi Andreatti.

Mr. Shirvinski gave the Principal's Report. He led a discussion of whether or not volunteers should comb hair and clean up students on picture day. The consensus of those in attendance of the meeting is that the volunteers should use their discretion and comb hair and use wipes on faces, etc. if necessary. Mr. Shirvinski added that he will be purchasing a composite class picture for every student even if they don't purchase any pictures. Picture Day begins at 8:20 and there was a sign up sheet available after the meeting for volunteers. Volunteers may park in the stones in front of the elementary school.
Mr. Shirvinski thanked all the volunteers who came in for Grandparent's Day. He said that it was a great day for the students and grandparents. Mr. Shirvinski thanked HART for providing cookies and drinks that day. Mr. Shirvinski reminded parents of the Pre-School Screening taking place at the school on October 19th. Anyone who is interested should call the office to register.

Karen Wojtowicz discussed Old Business. She said that Grandparents Day was a success and took suggestions from the parents. A suggestion was made to keep the crafts done in the room simple. Sometimes grandparents are helping more than one child if there is someone who does not have a grandparent present, and they run short on time for craft completion. There was also a suggestion to have the grandparents enjoy their snacks while the kids are singing rather than the very end. There was also a discussion about lack of parking and the possibility of staggering the times more. Mr. Shirvinski said he will consider the comments when planning for next year. Steph Mayernick said that Fire Safety Day was also a success. There was some food left over from the event; Mr. Shirvinski thanked HART for providing lunch for the firemen that day.
New Business was also discussed. There was discussion of the HART Budget for this school year. The sale of Tiger Wear was removed from the proposed budget in the amount of $2000.00 as SMART and other organizations are selling Southern Wear. The budgeted expenses for this year are $101,500. The budget was approved with a motion from Marsylvia Weaver and a second from Karen Cecco. Heidi Andreatti explained that we will be doing a Fall Fundraiser of Sheetz coupon books. The information and order forms will be going home with the students on October 10th and the orders are due on October 21st.
Mr. Shirvinski added that there will be one RIF day this year. Renelle Wetzel is in charge of RIF. He also explained the A.R. theme for this year which is " I Scream For Reading". He has given the students a 13,000 point challenge and if they meet it, Mr. Shirvinski will become a human ice cream sundae. The kids will be able to pour toppings on Mr. Shirvinski!!!!! The following are A.R. incentives: 25 points to earn a milk and cookies party, 50 for a Dippin Dots party, 75 points for a hoagie party and 100 points for a bowling party at Mid-Way Lanes.
Box Tops will now be done by Kristene Baldwin. Sue Griscavage will be training her in the collection and submission of Box Tops.
Karen said that Terry Genners headed the Fundraising Committee. A meeting was held and it was decided that the Sheetz coupon books should be a Fall Fund Raiser which will hopefully provide a cushion prior to the Spring Fund Raiser. HART will also be selling Scrip gift cards again for the holiday season.
Mr. Shirvinski thanked Mary Knoebel for handling the Giant A-Plus Rewards program. She reminded parents that you have to register your number every year and you can designate 2 schools. A reminder was given to use your Boyer's Rewards cards as well.
A sign up sheet was available after the meeting for Fall Picture Day as well as the Harvest Festival.
Sue Griscavage updated everyone on the Harvest Festival. The date for it will be October 28th. She said we will be getting 3 bounce houses and a game from John Glosek from The Igloo. We will need to have volunteers to keep track of the kid's shoes as they will be taking them off to enter the bounce houses. She said that Weis Markets are donating chips, pretzels and Wise is also donating chips. Mc Donald's will be donating drinks for the event as well. The craft will be a trick or treat bag that the kids can color. There will be a pumpkin decorating contest for the classes again. We will need volunteers to deliver the pumpkins to the individual classrooms. There are 26 homerooms and 2 life skill classes. We will also be doing a canned food collection for local food pantries that day.
Set up for the Fall Book Fair will take place on October 28th after school dismisses. The Book Fair will be 10-31 until 11-5 and parents interested in volunteering for it, should call Danee Ryter McCoog.
