Don't forget our school spirit days: 1st Friday of the month is ROAR t-shirt day and the 4th Friday of the month is black and gold day. Also remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather as they still go out for recess on chilly days !!!

Thank you to everyone who continues to send in the Labels For Education and the Box Tops!
Mr. Shirvinski reminded parents to make sure they are labeling any money coming into the school with their child's name. This includes lunch account money and book orders, etc. Please remember to indicate also what the money is for.
The Sky Dome Assembly has been moved to March 28th.Reading Night will be April 8, 2011. Mr. Shirvinski will be gathering a list of volunteers interested in helping with that event.

Karen Wojtowicz discussed both old and new business. Old business included a discussion of the Yankee Fundraiser.Allison Clark reported that Yankee has refunded our shipping. They will soon be shipping the items people were missing. People are able to return items to the store for exchange if they desire. Mr. Shirvinski stressed that the entire mix up with shipping was the fault of Yankee and not HART. He added that HART did everything correctly and also Allison did a great job handling this difficult situation. Mr. Shirvinski said that he recently spoke to the Yankee President of Fundraising Division and he wants to do something for HART to make the situation right. He will be contacting Mr. Shirvinski soon to discuss what he can do.
Karen thanked Mr. Shirvinski and Allison for all their hard work with this fundraiser and for handling a difficult situation.
Karen thanked Linda Hoy who organized the Scrip Cards Fundraiser.
New business included a discussion of the Donuts With Dad event which will be held on Feb.26, 2011. Amy Snyder will be chairing this event and is trying to secure donations of the kits from Home Depot. Lowe's was contacted as well but they do not donate kits, etc. We discussed the possibility of purchasing something additional for those coming to the event with more than one child.
Linda Hoy discussed the Spring Fundraiser. We have already committed to Gertrude Hawk, however, we learned at this meeting that we are not committed in future years even if the Middle School does it. We discussed the possibility of doing Race For Education in the future. It was mentioned by several people that the Race For Education has been very profitable for other schools. This is a consideration for next Fall. It was also discussed if we should offer another option with Gertrude Hawk for the Spring. Another fundraiser meeting will be held to iron out these details and a sign up sheet was available after the meeting.
There is $11,000 in an account from the Book Fair to purchase books for the school (classrooms and Reading Room). The next Book Fair will take place April 4-11 with the Reading Night event on April 8.
Report Cards will be going home January 26 or 27th.
Wacky Wednesday will be January 19 and the students can wear crazy or mismatched clothes.
Our current Giant Rewards are at $613.35 so continue using your bonus card or sign up if you haven't already.

Our next meeting will be February 1, 2011 in the elementary library at 6:30 p.m.. We hope to see everyone then!
Thanks to all those who attended January's meeting!!!!!!!!!!
Karen made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 which was approved by Dawna Knoebel and a second from Amy Snyder.
