and Labels for Education as they provide many things for the students.
Remember to dress your children
appropriately as they do go out for recess even on cold days.
Pennies for our Playground 1st
event was a great success, thank you to all who helped make that event a
success. Watch for news on the event!!!
Thank you to those that attend
our monthly HART meetings and for those that have volunteered their time to our
various school events.
We would like to take this

December HART Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Terry Genners
at 6:45 .
In attendance Tia Brown, Vanessa Stine, Georgiann Noll,
Roxanne Zuber, Sherry Humphrey, Judy Lynn Weaver, Nancy Weaver, Karen
Wojtowicz, Dawn Knoebel, Kim Levan, Michelle Conway, Amy Snyder, Susan
Griscavage, Linda Hoy, Terry Genners and Joe Shirvinski.
The meeting started with the Vice President’s report. Sue Griscavage did not have anything to report but she
mentioned that 4th grade could use clear soda bottles for the
science project. Sherry mentioned they
could use some from the pennies drive if needed.
Linda Hoy gave the Treasure’s report. The general fund balance stands at $12,647.90
as of November 30, 2012 . The class funds are as follows.
Kindergarten: $100
1st Grade: $844.16
2nd Grade: $1315.49
3rd Grade: $2843.68
4th Grade: $2164.68
A profit of $1400 from the Sheetz coupon sales and $2,063.95
from the script card sale. Script cards should be going home shortly.
The Treasure’s report was approved with a motion by
Georgiann Noll and a second from Roxanne Zuber.
Amy Snyder gave the Secretary’s
report which consisted of the review of the November minutes. They were approved by Sherry Humphrey and a
2nd by Karen Cecco.
Next Mr. Shirvinski gave the principal’s
report. He mentioned that PJ day is
coming up and that he is not going to provide cookies and milk for classes. Reason being that he spends about $500 on it in previous years and felt the money could go to Pennies for Our Playground, also some classes
have the event at times that might not be best for cookies and milk as a snack. An email was going to go to teacher to see if
they would like to utilize homeroom parents for the event.
Old Business was covered by Linda
Hoy in the Treasure’s report.
Next we moved onto New Business. There was no update for Accelerated reading
or Campbell labels. Box top forms were going home to be returned
on Pajama day. Keep the box tops
coming!!!! We talked about reward
options for Box top form return. Things
like a piece or candy such as a lollipop or sticker. Rewards won’t be given each time.
Next we discussed Family Fun
night. Karen reviewed some activities
from last year. There was Wii games,
Bingo, Snow cones, bounce house. Sherry
mentioned possibly having Karen Gronsky to do an activity like line dancing at
the event. Linda mention cotton candy
might be a good idea. Discussed calling
it a winter carnival. Last years date
was February 3rd from 6-8pm
this year the event will be February 22nd and Karen said she would chair
the event. Thank you so much
Karen!! Linda and Sue discussed game
options. It was mentioned that 3 gift
cards were give as prizes last year for returning your Box top form, winners
were picked at random.
Pajama Day is set for December
12.

Winter Recess begins December
24-January 1st.
Pennies for our Playground event,
Cookies and milk with Santa, was a success with approximately 126 kids. $630 dollars was made at door. $430 was pulled in from the raffle baskets
with a total of $985 total for raffles.
Thank you to all parents that donated items to go into raffles they were
a huge success and they committee only paid $15 on supplies for them. Winners were pulled at event and called to
pick up basket. If you have questions
you can contact Sherry Humphrey for more information. Face paint brought in $37.59 and $60 in donations. With a total of $2149.88. 60 dozen cookies were purchased for the event. At the end they were sold by the dozen for $2
and the rest were going to be given out at the next penny drop.
2 donations were given so far
with a total of $125. Next penny drop is
set for December 18th. It was
mentioned that we need to have someone like PlayWorld come and evaluate the
playground equipment for new. Sherry
mentioned the next event could possibly be a benefit night at Brewser’s. Terry mentioned that she thought there should not have charged for face painting at event and Amy Snyder agreed. Next Pennies meeting is December 18th
at 6:00pm
Sue mentioned if anyone would
like to sign up for this month to give teachers a treat. Georgiann said she would do it. Linda Hoy said she would take January. Tia
Brown thanked for Novembers treat that it was much appreciated and enjoyed by
all.
Sherry gave total for postage for
Pennies committee was $164.70 and $60 for milk.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:37pm with a motion from Karen Cecco and a
second from Michelle Conway.
